I love to make
meetings, classes, and learning colorful and engaging!
I have been a
professional trainer, instructional designer, and graphic facilitator for over
15 years. I have consulted with hundreds of professionals, trainers,
leaders in the public and private sectors to provide graphic facilitation for
improved engagement and higher retention.
As an artist since
childhood, I was eager to use the arts in business and education, as an
adult. My passion led me to develop unique strategies to connect people
and ideas through group painting experiences and graphic facilitation. I
specially designed “Social Artworking” (see page here) and visual communication
techniques to enhance unity and teambuilding. I use my graphic model
in my classes to prepare sessions, improve communication, and encourage
participant self-expression. I also enjoy creating graphic templates,
charts, and posters for community, coaching, and counseling interactions.
In these ways I help
audiences "see" what they are thinking-- eliminating assumptions and
guesswork. The brain thinks in symbols and pictures, and most people are visual learners. I create large paper murals with hand-drawn
pictures and words that capture a visual record of the conversation. My
process unites participants of diverse backgrounds and generations; and it
breaks down language barriers easily.
Moving from being a
graphic facilitator, I have now created and instructed the first
"how-to" graphics for facilitators class in Sacramento, California
(see page here). I have helped
hundreds of beginners learn this exciting new skill easily and take pride in
sharing this unique technique. They can learn how to map strategic plans,
class layouts, group processes, coaching sessions, and sales goals easily and
amazingly effectively!
I also lead “Social Artworking”
classes for private gatherings and business events. My method began in
the early 2000's with art classes for the community. After branching out
to teach in local shops and galleries, I now teach hundreds of participants in
local tea rooms, private parties, and for state government teams. I
created California state government's very first "Art of Stress Management"
social painting class as part of the Workplace Wellness Program. It has
been the Department of Social Services' most popular class since its inception
in 2017. Painting is an avenue for stress management, team-building, and
just having fun with peers. With my unique method, participants create,
communicate, and commemorate meaningful moments. I am now adding comedy
and laughter yoga to my classes to leverage humor as a fun, relaxation method
to counteract life's daily stressors.
I enjoy consulting
with people from all countries and cultures. I am always ready to help
learners draw out their genius using creative methods that require no talent or
experience.
